Lavender Whiskey Sour
LAVENDER WHISKEY SOUR
Ingredients:
* 2 Tbsp blueberry compote
* 2 oz whisky
* 1 oz fresh lime juice
* 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
* 1 oz lavender simple syrup
Garnish:
* fresh blueberries
* lavender sprig
Instructions:
1. Place 2 tablespoons blueberry compote into the bottom of a rocks glass & add ice
2. Place remaining ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- Whiskey
- Lemon and lime juice
- Lavender simple syrup
3. Add ice to shaker and shake vigorously
4. then slowly strain over the highest ice cube in the glass. This will give the cocktail its distinctive layered look.
Lavender Simple Syrup
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 Tbsp culinary lavender
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan combine water, sugar and bring to a light simmer.
2. Stir until sugar is dissolved
3. Remove from heat and stir in lavender.
4. Allow to cool to room temp.
5. Strain to remove lavender and set syrup aside to cool.
6. Keep refrigerated until needed
Blueberry Compote
Ingredients:
1 cup blueberries
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1 TBSP lemon juice
Instructions:
Simmer water and sugar is a small sauce pan until sugar is dissolved. Stir in blueberries, lemon juice and simmer, stirring occasionally, until blueberries begin to burst, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cool and use.
